Annotation. The author provides development periods of the legal basis for police (militia) intelligence in Russia thus considering the historical retrospective background of operative search activity. On the results of previous experience the author comes to the conclusion about the necessity to adapt this work to present day realities and the need to improve its legislative base.

Problems of interaction between operational units in detecting and investigating crimes.
Annotation. The author considers general and particular features of organizing interaction between divisions of law-enforcement agencies at the stage of developing information society. Some attention is paid to the improvement of organizational forms of cooperation in the implementation of operative search activity. The author defines duties and tasks for interaction of services and departments engaged in law enforcement activities. Special attention is paid to the interaction of operative search police units and investigators. Conclusion is made on the advantages of cooperation in detecting and investigating crimes.

Operative characteristics of members of radical religious groups.
Annotation. Criminals convicted of crimes of an extremist and terrorist nature, continue to recruit supporters among the convicts in prisons. It determines the need for timely counteracting such activity. Some features of the members of radical religious groups serving sentences in penal system are considered in the article.

The extension of competence of the jury, as differentiation of judicial proceedings in criminal cases:some theoretical and practical aspects.
Annotation. The introduction of jury trials in the district (city) courts from the point of view of differentiation of forms of criminal proceedings are considered in the article. The position that the criminal proceedings in the court of first instance must be differentiated exactly by expanding popular participation in the administration of justice, that is, the peer review of criminal cases on grave and especially grave crimes is expressed. Financial, economic, organizational, technical problems related to the introduction of trial by jury in the district (city) courts are designated in the article.
